Passing Thoughts, 2006

I.
So I'm riding the train
and we just passed the cemetery
and all of a sudden
I wanted to stand up
and bang on all the windows
and scream
"Wake UP! Wake UP! Wake UP!"
You see, I like to pretend
death is what hurts me most.
But I think it's love.

II.
pretty ballerina girl
pretty little girl
did they know what I was thinking?
How sad the spring made me?
in all my makeup and my tutus
sad little girl
I pirouetted their hearts away
"No one will ever know," I cried
into my pillow.
